Rare antique sterling silver retractable pickle fork trident from William Vane & Sons, patent #11744. The end of the handle can be pushed to slide a pickle clean off of the prongs.
We believe the date code (see photos) dates this fork to 1888.
Handle marked âPatent No 11744, WV & Sâ with pictorial hallmarks.
Weighs 23.7 grams.
Fork is about 7-5/8â long. Prongs are about 25mm widest.
Very good vintage condition. Gently pre-owned.
Pusher slightly bent but usable.
