Aquamarine symbolizes sympathy, trust, harmony, and friendship. It ranges from translucent blue to sea blue/green and is ideal for spring fashion. A member of the beryl family, like emerald, its color comes from iron deposits. Mined in Brazil, Sri Lanka, and Southeast Asia, it is named from Latin words meaning “water” and “sea.” Traditionally believed to protect sailors, it’s also a gift for the 19th wedding anniversary. If you are looking for an alternative, blue topaz is often considered the "poor man's" aquamarine.
