The Franklin Mint presents the East African Wild Life Society Big Game Animals sterling silver medal collection.
Circa 1971. Designs by artist Anthony Jones, who personally trekked through Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda to accurately portray the wildlife up close.
This set features 20 animals:

- Gorillas
- Cheetahs
- Thomson's Gazelles
- Reticulated Giraffes
- Grévy's zebra
- Kongoni Hartebeests
- Lions
- Sable Antelopes
- Roan Antelope
- Impalas
- Elephants
- African Buffalo

- Black Rhinoceros
- Eland
- Hippopotami
- Wildebeests
- Warthogs
- Gerenuks
Each medal weighs about 2 ounces and is about 51mm wide in diameter.
Total sterling silver weight is about 40 ounces, a little over 1,100 grams.
Individual medals have been seen selling for almost $150 retail each, giving this set a value of about $3,000.
All medals are sealed in clear plastic shell cases.
Some of the cases are cracked, but do not reflect the actual condition of the medals themselves.
Some of the medals exhibit mild patina around the edges.

If insured, we can provide you with the necessary insured mail receipt, but you must file the claim with the provider.
