Beautiful antique 14k yellow gold floral brooch pin features two flowers with round cabochon sapphires, surrounded by faceted clear crystal “petals”. The leaves of the flowers are embellished with tiny seed pearls.
The c-clasp in back dates this brooch to the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.
The brooch pin is 1-7/8″ by 1-1/16″. The flowers are about 11mm wide, and the sapphire cabochons 4mm wide. The seed pearls are tiny, about 1mm wide.
The brooch pin weighs 5.7 grams.
The back is hallmarked EROV, and this piece is acid tested to be 14k gold.
This estate pre-owned brooch pin is in very good condition, but does have wear appropriate to age.
With magnification, you can see tiny chips to the crystals, and a seed pearl that has flaws in the nacre. The pin in back has been bent by previous wearers, most likely to wear with a bulky sweater or coat. This can easily be adjusted by a bench jeweler if desired.
