A popular medal from the 60th anniversary of Queen Victoriaâs reign in 1897.
The obverse side depicts Queen Victoria with the inscription âVictoria successfully completed the sixtieth year of her reign, 20 June, 1897â, translated from Latin.
The reverse side depicts a younger Queen Victoria with the inscription âLength of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honourâ, translated from Latin.
The medal weighs 77.1 grams and is about 56mm wide in diameter by 3mm thick.
The medal retains excellent detail on both sides, with only a little bit of light toning on the obverse side.
